Montpellier Spring Fair: home, well-being, gastronomy and fun at the Parc des Expos

This first edition with a rich program opened this Thursday, March 17, and will run until Monday.

With the Spring Fair, which opened yesterday, the exhibition center is inaugurating a new concept that combines commercial stands and entertainment. In addition to exhibition and retail space (home, fashion, wellness, tourism, etc.), there are sports events, fitness classes, concerts, culinary demonstrations, catering areas (see program opposite). A showcase that also benefits the Frontignan La Talmelière bakery that makes you want to drink bread, pastries and pastries in the Place de l’Artisanat, the space of the fair held by the Chamber of Commerce. La Talmelière was awarded the Hérault gourmet competition for its apple and lime fragrance. “Being present at this fair allows us to attract Montpellier customers by selling locally and also encouraging them to come to our bakery.”emphasizes Alice Benak at the booth.

The Spring Fair is also dedicated to innovation. Eight local companies present their products or services here: natural dog treats, an eco-responsible tourism platform, a clothing exchange shop for women and children, etc. These professionals compete for the Gustave Prize (a reference to Gustave Eiffel, who participated in the World exhibition of 1889), created by the network of fairs in France.

Finally, peddlers and their products that make everyday life easier are also in the spotlight thanks to a special competition. On Saturday, the jury will determine the best participant of the fair, who will win a booth at the International Fair in Montpellier from 7 to 12 October.

Sports events, Ricoune concert…

Throughout the fair, the Regional Olympic and Sports Committee of Occitania offers many sports initiatives at facilities set up by leagues and federations.

The program includes, among other things: a game opening with the Rugby League of Occitania, a demonstration and introduction to skateboarding with the association “Urban Cultures Without Borders”, an introduction to table tennis on large and small tables, an introduction to golf on an inflatable driving range. Also an animation of laser target shooting with the sports federation of the national police.
